PrintRover® Enterprise™ from Thinxtream’s Print Solutions Group addresses the safety of sensitive company/employee information in prints. Your IT manages the creation of PrintRover Enterprise accounts for users and enables printing for them. Printing can be performed only when your employees/admin are authenticated by your organization’s security policies and have access to the organization’s network.
Your IT determines how users print – via secure access to print devices across the organization or direct to specific print devices for select individuals/groups. With secure printing, PrintRover Enterprise ensures that prints are collected by concerned users based on NFC based mobile authentication. A provision for guest printing is available for authorized external customers/suppliers or temporary staff, to print to specific printers in the organization’s network.
In addition, your IT can centrally track printing across the organization – by users and print devices.
Multi-Vendor Print, Mobile & Desktop Device Support
PrintRover Enterprise enables printing to a wide range of PostScript®, PCL® 5 and PCL 6 compliant printers/MFPs from several manufacturers, across your organization’s wired and wireless LANs. Your existing printing infrastructure is enabled for secure printing via the PrintRover Enterprise Gateway, based on authentication of the NFC tag on the print device via a preconfigured user mobile device.
It is also a unified printing solution for users across their mobile devices and desktops/laptops. They can print from their Apple® iPhone®, iPad®, Android™ smart phones/tablets as well as Windows®/Mac® desktops/laptops and collect their prints from the print device in the same manner.
Desktop Support & Driverless Printing
Apart from mobile printing, PrintRover Enterprise is a comprehensive solution that addresses all the printing needs of an organization, by providing support for printing from desktops/laptops, using the PrintRover Enterprise Print Driver for Windows® or the Web browser-based PrintRover Enterprise Print Portal.
It enables your users to print directly from their device (desktop/laptop/smart phone/tablet) without the need to install different printer drivers. Direct printing can be performed using PrintRover Enterprise Print Driver by users of Windows® desktops and laptops running.

It enables printing to a wide range of printers/MFPs from several printer manufacturers, from a wide range of Windows® and Mac® desktops/laptops, Apple® iOS®, Android™smartphones/tablets, and other devices making it a unified printing solution.
PrintRover Enterprise supports printing to any PostScript® 3, PCL® 5 or PCL 6 compliant printer/MFP.
PrintRover Enterprise supports a wide range of file formats in the desktop/laptop, smart phone/tablet environment. These include Word, Excel® and PowerPoint® documents, PDF and JPEG files.
PrintRover Enterprise enables secure printing via the PrintRover Enterprise Gateway and NFC based mobile device authentication, which are required for each supported printer/MFP.
PrintRover Enterprise connects to printers/MFPs via the PrintRover Enterprise Gateway, a small hardware device. Secure printing for the printer is enabled by the installation of PrintRover Enteprise Gateway and NFC tag.
PrintRover Enterprise prints documents accurately, as you would experience by printing from a PC with a print driver. Printed documents retain the original document formatting and the users get high quality, what-you-see-is-what-you-get (WYSIWYG) prints.
PrintRover Enterprise offers different print options such as paper size, no. of copies, page range, color options, tray selection, etc.
PrintRover Enterprise supports printing from the following devices:
Apple® iPhones, iPads, Android™ Smartphones/Tablets, Windows® Desktops/Laptops.
Desktops/Laptops with Web Browser support for: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Mac Safari, Windows Safari.
PrintRover Enterprise can be accessed from the device over the organization’s wireless/wired LAN.
PrintRover Enterprise integrates with the organization’s authentication infrastructure. Authentication of end- users is done via integration with organization's Active Directory. Only end-users authorized by the organization’s PrintRover Administrator can access PrintRover Enterprise.
End-users can access printers/MFPs specified by the PrintRover Administrator in two modes – either any printer/MFP via secure printing or a designated printer/MFP via enterprise printing (for specific individuals or departments). In the case of secure printing, end-users can initiate prints with individual NFC based mobile authentication at any printer/MFP.
All communication between the client devices (Smartphones/Tablets, Laptops/Desktops, PrintRover Enterprise Gateway) and PrintRover Enterprise Server is done over a secure connection by enabling HTTPS on the PrintRover Enterprise Server.
PrintRover Enterprise provides enhanced accounting to track printing usage by end-users, printers/MFPs, location and cost-center, including:
- Number of jobs printed
- Number of pages printed per job
- Types of documents printed
- Number of B&W and color pages printed
The Usage Reports can be exported from PrintRover Enterprise for further analysis.
Any status/error reporting is done via email notifications. The Administrator can configure an email address in PrintRover Enterprise Server to receive such email notifications.
End-users are notified via an email to their respective email accounts. The content of the email indicates the job status or an error message that users have to provide to the Administrator.
Yes. Print devices can be configured with guest print access. However, the access to PrintRover Enterprise is restricted to designated desktops and guests/visitor cannot do secure printing.
Ordering & Subscription – For IT
PrintRover Enterprise is licensed for an annual fee based on the number of printers/MFPs to be supported. Please contact us with your requirements.
Management and Administration – For IT
Please login to the PrintRover Enterprise Server to specify the mode of printing for each end-user – secure printing to any printer/MFP or enterprise printing to specified printers/MFPs.

You can start using it after your organization’s PrintRover Administrator has provided you with PrintRover Enterprise Address (IP Address/FDQN). To login and start using PrintRover Enterprise, you should enter your Username and Password, and Server address, as specified by the PrintRover Administrator.
Please ask your PrintRover Administrator to install PrintRover Enterprise Print Driver on your Windows® computer.
